Ashford CSU has continued its proactive efforts to tackle nuisance motorbikes across Ashford, utilising powers to seize vehicles and prevent anti-social behaviour. These ongoing operations have enabled officers to take positive action against offenders while reducing the impact of nuisance riding on local communities. The team is also spearheading the use of drone technology to track and monitor moving motorbikes, providing a significant operational advantage in locating suspects, gathering intelligence, and supporting positive enforcement. This innovative approach has enhanced our capability to identify offenders and take effective action where offences are being committed. In addition, CSU worked collaboratively with a neighbouring Police force to investigate a shop burglary. Through a coordinated cross-border effort, officers were able to locate the van involved and identify and arrest two males in connection with the offence. CSU has also responded proactively to a number of commercial burglaries where offenders used ram-raid tactics to gain entry and steal goods from small local businesses. By targeting the vehicle linked to these incidents and carrying out focused activity, we successfully identified and arrested a male suspected of involvement in multiple burglary offences. We continue to listen to concerns over speeding and will actively work with Speedwatch partners and deploy officers with speed guns in problem areas.
